WhatsApp Will Stop Working on These Platforms from December 31

WhatsApp will stop working on some platforms from 31st December 2017, as confirmed by Facebook-owned messaging app WhatsApp. According to an express.co.uk report that got published on Monday, WhatsApp will stop working on platforms like ‘BlackBerry OS’, ‘BlackBerry 10’, ‘Windows Phone 8.0’ and so on.

In fact, after December 2018, WhatsApp declared that it will not work on ‘Nokia S40’, most probably it will not work from 31st December. The app will not work on Nokia Symbian S60 after 30th June, 2017. Also, on the Android OS version 2.3.7 and older version than that, the WhatsApp will most probably not be working after 1st February 2020.

WhatsApp said, “We will no longer actively develop for these platforms, some features may stop functioning at any time.”. The company further added, “These platforms don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer OS version, or to a newer Android running OS 4.0+, iPhone running iOS 7+, or Windows Phone 801+ so that you can continue using WhatsApp.”
